Chris Scheerder is the founder of Trueflix, LLC. Chris was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Chris later lived and worked in Paris, and there developed her love of cinema. In the early eighties she immigrated to Massachusetts where she lived for 10 years. In 1991 she moved to California with her family. After taking a series of courses and internships in the media field, in 2003 Chris started working with the United Nations Associated Film Festival (UNAFF), out of Stanford University of which she is now an Associate Director. One of her roles includes working as a film jury chair reviewing submitted documentaries of which in 2017 included over 700 submissions. UNAFF is one of the oldest documentary film festivals in the United States. Chris has participated internationally as a member of the UNAFF traveling film festival in locations such as such as Paris, Belgrade and Abu Dhabi. Chris has also taken on projects as a filmmaker herself, having directed and filmed a documentary on the life and work of Dutch sculptor Jaap Bongers. Chris now lives between San Francisco and Paris, which helps to keep her vision global.
